Kanguva (translation: Man with the power of fire) also known as Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga, is an upcoming Indian fantasy action film [a] directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green and UV Creations. The film stars Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Reddine Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj and K. S. Ravikumar in lead roles.
Suriya and Siva’s project was initially announced in April 2019, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India and Suriya and Siva’s other commitments. The film was re-released in August 2022 as Suriya 42[b], with filming beginning in the same month and continuing for 17 months, completing in January 2024. The film was shot in Chennai, Goa, Kerala, Kodaikanal and Rajahmundry. The technical team includes Devi Sri Prasad, Vetri Palanisamy and Nishad Yusuf as music composer, cinematographer and editor. Made on a budget of around Rs 300 crore to Rs 350 crore, Kanguva is one of the most expensive films in the history of Indian cinema
